We want to help children understand where their food comes from. They come to know how the energy from the sun is stored in the plants we eat and the animals that eat the plants. We learn about what our bodies need to grow and be strong.
We offer nutritious whole and unprocessed foods to the children at breakfast, morning snack, lunch and afternoon snack. There are plenty of fresh fruits, vegetables and whole grains. The menu has been refined over the years and rotates every four weeks. Children help serve themselves and clean up afterwards. We serve cow and soy milk. Parents have the option of milk alternatives for their child. We offer vegetarian and vegan options as well as accommodations for other dietary needs, including dairy-free and gluten-free diets. We are a nut-free campus.
We, also, offer fresh, homemade baby food for infants in the process of transitioning onto solid food. We work closely with parents on a schedule of introduction.
